The Berline Thenor Interview

berline thenorWhat is one thing that no-one would usually know about you?

I am really quiet person. I can be somewhere or at home and be quiet as a mouse and people would never know I’m there.

How did you choose a title for your book?

The title Birthing Purpose really just came to me. After coming through what I like to call my process my purpose was revealed to me. It was like God telling me I needed you to go through that so that you can bring forth all this that I put in you.  As I began writing this book it was like going on a journey to birth greater from what one has been through and God gave me Birthing Purpose.

Do you think there is any elitism attached to the different genres of books, both in the fiction and non-fiction worlds?

I wouldn’t call it elitism I think that people like what they like and who they like. If an author has established themselves in their genre and readers gravitate to them and their work then I believe that person is successful in reaching their intended audience.  Also, what needs to be taken into consideration is that some writers other have occupations where they already have a following so it would make sense that those same people will follow them as a writer/author.

Have you ever written naked?

Ha! No not that I can remember.

What is the single biggest challenge you faced when writing your book?

My biggest challenge was trusting myself. I’d been writing this book for two and half years because there were so many times I went back and changed something and in the end I changed the whole flow of the book. All because I didn’t trust in what I had put out thinking that it needed to be better. Another one would be finally releasing the book for publishing because I didn’t think it was good enough I just held on to it changing small things because I was afraid of releasing it.

How do you remain sane while working?

Music, it keeps me in my zone. Mostly live music I would create playlist on YouTube and it helps keeping me focused.

What has been the best experience you have ever had in your life?

My best experience is finding my purpose in life at a fairly young age. Knowing my purpose is what makes me look forward to getting up every morning. I look forward to seeing how my purpose will be be used each day and I look forward to that feeling that I am doing just what I am set out on this earth to do.

Are you jealous of other writers?

No, I believe everyone has their own lane. I do get taken away by how they can build and bring to life a story.  I love to read a series of book by an author just to see how they bring stories together and how deep their imagination can go.

Where do you find your inspiration?

God is my inspiration. I love how He can download what He needs to be said through me to help someone and it reaches that person. It is something I get forward to each time I write and it’s a great feeling to know that I am being used to help somebody where they hurt the most.

Have you had to learn new skills and tricks or attempted impossible feats in order to get a book finished?

I wish. Do you know any?

Tea, Coffee, Water, Juice, Wine or Beer … which do you prefer when writing?

Water, helps me takes bathroom breaks while in a writing session.
