Meet Francis H Powell, the author of Adventures of Death, Reincarnation and Annihilation. What if the human race was considered irrelevant and then each being was just uploaded then locked away on hard drives called “brain pods?”
What is one thing people wouldn’t usually know about you?
I once dressed in a gorilla outfit for a Pigbag video
What did your best review say about your work?
They are a little Ray Bradbury, a lither Stephen King, a very interesting read.
How important are the names of any characters in your book?
Very important, because they say a lot about the character. I have some unusual names in my first book Flight of Destiny, like Bugeyes, Maggot.
How did you choose a title for your book?
It was a series of stories about Death, the main story is about reincarnation and there are a couple of stories about annihilation and all in all it is a journey
Are there any occupational hazards to being a writer?
Promoting is hard. Rejection is hard. Writer’s block can happen now and again.
Do you think there is any elitism attached to different book genres?
Perhaps. I suppose if you write erotica, you are probaly not going to be compared to a literary great.
What is the biggest challenge you faced when writing your book?
Knitting it all together, drawing a story to it’s conclusion.
How do you remain sane whilst writing?
Quite easily, I am also a painter, that makes me crazy, writing is more calming.
Where do you find your inspiration?
Sometimes ideas pop into my head. Films can be inspiring. Everyday happenings
What was the most important thing you learned at school?
I got my love for history at school, as well as my love for art, but I mostly hated school.
Which book would you like to have written?
Charles Darwin’s book on evolution, No only kidding.
