Friday Fictioneers – Ten green bottles

It’s been just over a couple of years since I last participated in Friday Fictioneers with it’s challenge of the 100 word short story. It’s great to see Rochelle Wiseoff-Fields is still hosting the whole shebang. The usual rules apply, the photo copyright belongs to GL MacMillan. If you’d like to find out more about what Friday Fictioneers is and how to get involved, you just need to follow the instructions on Ms Rochelle’s site for more info.

“Ten green bottles standing on the wall, ten green bottles standing on the wall, and if one green bottle should accidentally fallllllllllllll”

Predicting what Katy would do next, Maeve sang out to head that particular smash off before its inevitable conclusion with a final line “and you’ll get a smack on the bottom and sent to bed”.

Katy poked her head around the door and smiled sweetly. “I wasn’t going to do anything momma, honest I wasn’t”

Maeve smiled and reaching for her daughters hand said “let’s go to the playground and swings instead … we’ll take a picnic too”.

(100 words- yay!)

  1. Dear Linda,

Nice to see you here again. I still have your lovely logo on the business cards I hand out.

I can’t believe I’m still running this cat herd, but I really do love it and have made some great friends.

    Cute story.
