Chesil Bank Writing Shed – October 2026

Join the Chesil Bank Writing Shed group for support and help getting started as a creative writer. We use writing prompts that take us on new writing journeys to explore fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. We discuss the monthly topic, share our ideas and work with writing prompts. This workshop usually meets on the second Thursday of each month between 7 and 9 pm, at Portesham Village Hall.

Our next meeting is on Thursday, 8th October, at 7 pm in Portesham Village Hall.

Topic: 2026 is the year of ‘The Genre’. Last month we started thinking about romance, and in October we continue the overall theme with romantic advenure. Imagine Romancing the Stone, Raiders of the Lost Ark, or even The Shape of Water and you capture the idea of heroic adventure perfectly.
